Green brownies are the new black.
With the full on blow-up of Tik Tok, there have been countless recipes going viral. I made two of the most intriguing ones I found. Here’s how to make them.
Recipe 1: Matcha Brownies
Calling all matcha lovers for this one. These golden green brownies that will make you feel like you’re in the Green Eggs & Ham universe. They taste even better than they look and the baking process is only slightly different than baking regular brownies from scratch. Here’s how to bake them:
- ½ cup & 2 tbsp Flour
- 4 tbsp Matcha Powder
- ¼ tsp Baking Powder
- ⅛ tsp Salt
- 140 grams White Chocolate (I use Ghirardelli white chocolate)
- 1 stick Unsalted Butter
- 2 Eggs
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
Mix all dry ingredients together (flour, matcha powder, baking powder, sugar & salt) and stir well. In a separate bowl, crack the eggs, whisk them and add them to a bowl of fully microwave melted Ghirardelli white chocolate. Stir the egg and chocolate mixture, and then add vanilla extract. Once the dry and wet ingredients are independently mixed, put them together and stir! Mix well. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit, and bake for 12-15 minutes , checking on them consistently.
Each time I’ve made these my batter has been thick. It can be hard to stir, so using an electric mixer is also an option. I opted to put my brownie mixture into baking cups so they are individual instead of in a big brownie pan.
Here’s how they turned out:
Recipe 2: Avocado Egg?
Err, I don’t know what to call this, but it’s an avocado cut in half with spices and egg in the center. Sounds odd but tastes AWESOME. For this recipe you’ll need an air fryer.
- 1 egg
- 1 avocado
- Sea salt
- Red pepper flakes
- Basil leaves
- Shredded cheese of your choice
Avocado egg is simpler than you might think. You just need to be careful not to spill the egg whites out of the avocado when putting it in your air fryer. To begin, cut an avocado in half, remove the pit and season it with sea salt, basil leaves and red pepper flakes. Then crack an egg, the yolk goes into half of the avocado, and the whites can be poured into the other half. Sprinkle your cheese on top of this concoction, and air fry in an air fryer at 390 degrees fahrenheit for ten minutes.
It should look something like this:
And for further reference, it should taste damn good.
I hope you enjoy these recipes! Please leave a comment if you tried one and what you thought.
